The service forecast a front is expected to move down the island chain today and stall near the Big Island by late Saturday. Heavy showers are expected to affect both leeward and windward portions of the island.
The weather service noted specifically the Kailua-Kona area, warning it is more susceptible to flooding problems.
A flash food watch means conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding, according to the weather service. The public is reminded that while it may not be raining heavily in your area, flash flooding can occur.
